New Hope restaurants, from the small side-street cafes to the romantic restaurants along the river, serve dishes from around the world. This a great little town with fine restaurants like you might find in New York or Philly.

Feature your restaurant here:

Indian Rock Inn
Find out more at The Indian Rock Inn of Bucks County

I’ve listed restaurants in New Hope and in the surrounding area within 5 miles of the city, across the river in Hunterdon County, New Jersey in Lambertville and Stockton. I also list places in rural Bucks County, to the north along river road and to the west to Peddler’s Village in Lahaska.

I hope you enjoy the new site format. It’s much more interactive and up to date. You can now log in and leave a comment about your favorite place. I welcome all of your comments, positive and negative. I’ll publish all of your positive comments and forward all of your negative comments to the restaurant owners whenever possible. I do not believe in the negative slamming that goes on across the web that has destroyed restaurants across the nation. We believe that when people have problems with each other, they should speak directly, not publish their disagreements online for everyone to read.

I’m also featuring a selection of my own photos from a recent day-trip so that you can get a better feel for the place.

Dilly’s is one of my favorite places in New Hope, Bucks County and in the entire region. The first time I saw it reminded me of my childhood in South Alabama. Mom and Dad used to take us kids to a tiny little place called the Jacket’s Nest in Ashford for a hot dog and an ice cream when it was too hot to cook. Dilly’s is a place like that. It’s all American. It’s a hot-dog/ice cream stand like many you’ll find across America built in the late 40′s or early 50′s to serve growing and traveling families of the Baby Boom era.

One of the most unique things about Dilly’s is how they keep up with your order. When you tell the clerk what you want to eat, she gives you a playing card. When your order is ready you’ll here something like: “2 of hearts”, or “Ace of Spades” which means your food is ready.

You can eat outside at one of the picnic tables and enjoy the comings and goings and watch the long lines of steady customers on the weekends. Dilly’s is located 1 house away from the Delaware River at the intersection of River Road and Old York Road. River Road runs between Easton and New Hope and Old York Road runs between Stockton New Jersey and Peddler’s Village in Lahaska.

Dilly’s serves a 1/4 pound Dilly Dog that’s a hot dog on a huge torpedo roll topped with fried onions, peppers and french fries [on the hot dog that is]. Another popular item is the Dilly Cheeseburger that’s a 1/3 pound burger on a kaiser roll with American cheese, fresh tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise. You can also get onion rings, regular fries, or curly fries on the side. To make your trip to Dilly’s complete however, you’ve got to have a soft-serve ice cream or a sundae. They also offer milkshakes, malts, frozen yogurt, fish sandwiches, fish and chips, chicken sandwiches, curly fries and chilli dogs.

Dilly’s has a a loyal local following and consistently good food. Dilly’s gets my vote for several Best of Bucks Awards: Best Burger in Bucks County, Best Hot Dog in Bucks County, Best Fast Food in Bucks County.

Dilly’s Corner is keeping up with the times. When I took my father and sister there, they had added a black bean burger, a Dilly Salad, water ice, and a no sugar added butter pecan frozen yogurt to the menu.
