This gorgeous lighting fixture is from Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania.
This wall sconce takes the form of leaves and flowers. It is a marvelous piece. It is located inside one of the conservatories at Longwood Botanical Gardens in Kennett Square in Chester County Pennsylvania.

Tropical Flowers in Pennsylvania

You can always find tropical flowers in Pennsylvania regardless of what season it is at Longwood Gardens.
This photo was taken at Pennsylvania’s Longwood Gardens in the winter of 2008. No matter how cold it is outside, you can always find some tropical plants in bloom in the conservatory at this botanical gardens facility in Southeast Pennsylvania near Philadelphia.

Trees . Weeping Beech Photo

This Weeping Beech is part of the incredible collection of tree specimens at Longwood Gardens southwest of Philadelphia in Chester County Pennsylvania.
We photographed this Weeping Beech in March of 2008 on a trip to Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, the Brandywine Museum and West Chester Pennsylvania.

The scientific name of this tree is: Fagus sylvatica. It is also known as Pendula.

This wonderfully strange tree was photographed in March of 2008.
This Twisted European Beech feels like much more of a sculpture than a tree. The form of this tree is extreme with twists and turns and odd forms that you would not expect from a tree. I chose this photo because the hard edges of the plastic pipe in the background provide a nice contrast to the amorphous shape of this tortured and twisted tree.

This has to be one of the strangest trees that I have ever seen. It is part of a wonderful collection of trees at Longwood which started out centuries ago as an arboretum.

This tree is one marvelously strange creature. It is wonderfully sculptural.
This Twisted European Beech is part of the tree collection at Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

The scientific name for this tree is Fagus sylvatica. It is also known as Tortuosa.

This photograph features a marvelous Copper Beech that is part of the collection at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square Pennsylvania. The picture was taken at the very end of winter just before spring was about to hit.

This Copper Beech is a marvelous specimen tree. It is part of a grand collection of trees at Longwood Gardens near Philadelphia PA. Longwood began as an arboretum when Joshua and Samuel Peirce began planting trees here in 1798.
