Best of Bucks County

Bucks County is located in Southeastern Pennsylvania just north and east of Philadelphia. It is a place of striking contrast. The southern part of the county is urban and has a vast spiderweb of major highways and interstates that crisscross the landscape. The northern part of the county is decidedly rural and is characterized by little towns scattered out along winding country roads.

Bucks County, Pennsylvania is one of the most beautiful places that I’ve ever lived. You can see this in our photo of a historic Bucks County Covered Bridge shown above. This bridge is the Frankenfield Covered Bridge located in the Northern part of the county near Erwinna Pennsylvania.

Bucks County is located in Eastern Pennsylvania, on the Delaware River. The landscape here consist mostly of gentle rolling hills, with the northern section being more hilly.

Bucks County is old farming country, but much of the southern part of the county has been heavily developed since the completion of Interstate 95, and the metropolitan Philadelphia area has spread into much of the southern and western part of the county.

When visiting Bucks County, there are some points of interests that you might want to consider adding to your itenerary. The major cultural institutions, attractions and activities are:

The Michener Museum of Art in Doylestown
holds one of the best collections of Pennsylvania Impressionists paintings in the world.

The Mercer Museum
in Doylestown houses an incredible collection of 40,000 early Americana and tools of colonial tradesmen and crafts, housed in a gigantic 6 story castle.
