Best Place for a Cocktail Along the River: Tubby’s Tank House

Tubbies features one incredible view of the Savannah River, great beers, martinis and cocktails. It’s a great place to watch the comings and goings on the river. Savannah’s port is always busy with lots of container ships, tankers and tugs. We sat there on our first afternoon in Savannah, drinking a Bloody Mary, nibbling on fried shrimp, and fell in love with this fun, funky and beautiful city.

Tubby’s menu is traditional. Our favorite dishes were the fried shrimp and crab cakes. They are famous for their Grouper Fingers and their pecan pie which they bake fresh every day at the Savannah Candy Kitchen. You’ll find a good selection of burgers and sandwiches, appetizers, soups, salads, seafood dinners, pasta and steaks.

The restaurant is open every day of the week for lunch and dinner. They serve lunch from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. They serve dinner from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and from 5:00 pm to 11:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. The average price per person for lunch and dinner runs $10.00 to $20.00. According to Tubby’s new menu that I just found on their website, you can also get breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 every day of the week. I guess that just gives me one more reason to go back!

The restaurant is part of a large corporation called the Live Oak Restaurant Group. They own another Tubby’s in Thunderbolt, Fiddler’s Seafood, Fiddler’s Crab House, Spanky’s, River House Seafood, The Conch House and Molly McGuire’s.
