Frenchtown Community Day and Car Show

The Lions Club in Frenchtown throws a party for the entire town every year during the summer. The event includes an arts and crafts show, a pit barbeque, music, a car show and fireworks at the end of the day. Community Day in Frenchtown is celebrated in the summer or the fall at Old Frenchtown Field on the north side of town. It is sponsored by the Frenchtown Lions Club. They sponsor all the activities and it is one of their big fund raisers for the year. The members of the organization take turns flipping burgers on the grill, roasting the pig, feeding hungry townspeople and helping out the exhibitors.

Over the years the event has grown tremendously. There is always music at the festival. Some years they have a disc jockey, but most years they have a local band playing live music all day.

The arts and crafts show has more participants every year it seems. The booth rentals are extremely cheap and that makes the event very popular with local artists and craftsmen. The car show is also very popular. I have personally watched it grow from one row to three long rows. The car show is even cheaper than the art show. It will cost you only $10.00 to enter. Everyone’s favorite part of Community Day however has to be the fireworks that are the perfect ending to this charming small town event. They are sponsored and engineered by Lions Club member Dr. Hahn.
